Dr Muhammad Aminu Muhammad retired as a Deputy Comptroller General of
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in 2023 after a meritorious public
service which he joined in 1988. He rose through the ranks and worked
in many commands and units of the NIS, at home and abroad. He was at
different times, Head Immigration Attaches at the Nigeria High
Commission, United Kingdom, Assistant Comptroller General in charge of
Nigeria’s Border Management, Assistant Comptroller General,
Investigation & Compliance Directorate and Deputy Comptroller General,
Border Management and Migration Management. He also headed the NIS
Training School Command and ICT Division.
Dr Aminu Muhammad acquired post graduate degrees from Lagos State
University, University of East Anglia, UK after his bachelor’s degree
from the Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. He attended different
executive courses, which includes Advance Leadership Programme at
University of Cambridge JBS, UK. All of these culminated in his Ph.D
in International Governance and Diplomacy at Loughborough University.
Dr Aminu Muhammad has several papers, publications and articles to his
name and brings a rich governance experience to the Board of X-agon
Digital Solutions Limited.
